Johnny Law and the Pistol Packin’ Daddies

Since the inception of Johnny Law & the Pistol Packin’ Daddies in 2001 in Perth, Western Australia, the band has played all over Australia, toured throughout Germany and the West Coast of the United States (including Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Festival 2007/2008). Now in 2009, they’re heading back to Europe and the US for their biggest tour to date.

The band will kick off their exciting new tour with a performance at Australia’s biggest Rockabilly Festival, “Greazefest”, and then begin a string of shows in Europe including “Rockabilly Day” in Belgium and High Rockabilly in Spain, taking in Germany, Austria and France too, before heading to the USA.

With three unique but traditional style releases under their belt, they have plenty to choose from and their latest CD, “I’ll Get It Right” was recorded at Lightning Recorders in Berlin offering the listener a generous number of tunes to please the ear. On this particular recording you’ll hear songs with different feels such as Blues, on “Big Bad Blues”, or the revamped swingin’ sound of Johnny Burnette’s “All By Myself” and traditional full-stream-ahead Rockabilly on the title track, “I’ll Get It Right”. There’s something for everyone on this 17 track CD.

Since 2007 Johnny has been living in Southern California playing his original music to the Americans and writing his newest album which he hopes to release sometime early in 2010. While in the U.S. Johnny built himself a large and loyal following and at the height of popularity, returned to his hometown (mainly due to an expired visa) to get to work on this latest, bigger and better tour.

This time around Johnny will be joined by close friend and brilliant Australian rockabilly guitarist, “The Josh” who featured on the last CD. The Josh has been playing guitar since he was a young boy and has earned himself the respect of many other great guitarists and band members alike (many of which he has personally played with, ie Eddie Nichols, Russell Scott, The Go Getters, Jack Rabbit Slim, Eddy and the Backfires, Hot Rails).

Also joining the boys will be German drummer Andreas ‘Ca$hBag’ Henschel hitting the skins, and American bass player Mike Turturro. Mike has played with many bands in the U.S. (ie The Memphis Kings, and Hellbound Hayride) and earned his stripes as a renowned Rockabilly and Blues player.

This is a sure-fire line up promising only the best performances, showcasing Johnny’s musical song-writing talents, so expect an amazing show with a powerhouse of energetic original music from Australia’s best.

See this band before they head to the United States to tour the West Coast and the Mid West of America. If you’re going to the Rockabilly Rave #2 in Vegas be sure to catch their show on Sunday of the festival, otherwise you may be waiting a whole year for their return!
